Impression Architecture –
Graphic Design of Shinnoske Sugisaki and Fuzzy – Graphic Design of Takahashi
Yoshimaru is a rare set of poster monographs by two renowned, award–winning
graphic designers from Osaka: Shinnoske Sugisaki and Yoshimaru Takahashi.
Each presents over 150 works in this poster collection with essays by curators
Wilhelm Hornbostel and Juergen Doering of Museum Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg.
This set of two design books by Sugisaki and Takahashi is published on the
occasion of the exhibition: ‘Virtue, Truth, Beauty – Graphic Design of Shinnoske
Sugisaki and Yoshimaru Takahashi’ which is hosted at Museum Kunst und Gewerbe
in Hamburg from 23 November 2007 to February 2008. Engaged in graphic design
(from analog to digital) for the past 30 years, the two Japanese designers
embrace different design expressions and aesthetics, yet share a common admiration
for the beauty of Chinese characters and an experimental spirit in design
and education. Selected design works are featured in the collections of museums
in Japan and overseas.
