HUGH, Errol Patrick
Born in Kingston, Jamaica and now residing in Hong Kong, Errol Hugh began his architectural career in 1963 when he enrolled at the Jamaica College of Technology. He was awarded the Alpha Rho Chi Medal in recognition of his Master Architecture Degree at the University of Manitoba in 1973 following the completion of a Environmental Studies Degree in 1970. After a year as a 4th year design critic at the University of Manitoba, and a period of four years working in various offices in Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Edmonton, he started his own private practice Errol Hugh Architect Ltd. In 1993 Errol Hugh moved to Hong Kong and worked with Wong & Ouyang for thirteen years, before joining LWK & Partners in early 2006.
Over the years, Hugh has kept sketchbooks of his architectural designs and has always encouraged his colleagues to sketch and produce free-hand drawings during the conceptual design stages of their work.
