LAM, Hung
Born in Hong Kong, Hung Lam is a graphic designer who co-founded CoDesign Ltd with Eddy Yu in 2003. In addition to his work, Hung is an active participant in international, cultural, art and design projects. He has won a number of prominent international awards over the years. Some of his works have become part of the permanent collections at V&A Museum in England, Osaka Suntory Museum in Japan, Plakatsammlug Museum fur Gestaltung Zurich in Switzerland, Museum fur kunst und Gewerbe, and Hong Kong Heritage Museum. In 2011, Hung was admitted as a member of Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).
In recent years, Hung and Eddy engaged in CoLab, establishing a new collaborative platform for social innovation through design. One of the CoLab projects, So…Soap! not only attracts wide coverage in local and international media, but has won several prestigious awards including Bronze Pencil, Sustainability in Design, One Show, New York and the Grand Award, Design for Asia Awards, Hong Kong. The project was selected by Hong Kong Museum of Art as one of three representing works of Hong Kong to participate in the Liverpool Biennial 2012. CoLAB recently launched the project “I’MPERFECT”, a movement promoting the appreciation of imperfection, further enhancing social innovation through creativity and design. The project received the Bronze Award, Design For Asia Award 2012; 5 Awards (2 Silvers, 2 Bronzes and 1 Judges’ Choice Award, of which 2 were awarded Hong Kong Best) in HKDA Global Design Awards 2013; Silver Award, Creative Circle Award, Denmark in 2013 and Best of Golden Pin Design, Golden Pin Design Award 2014, Taiwan.
